Not Sure What to Send? Start Here
Most people arrive knowing the occasion but not the flower. This is the short version of what we actually send most often in Perth, and roughly what it costs.
| Occasion | What works | Typical spend |
|---|---|---|
| Birthday | Bright mixed seasonal, gerberas, sunflowers, a bloom box | $59–$95 |
| Anniversary | Red roses, rose and orchid boxes, garden-style mixes | $75–$165 |
| New baby | Soft, compact, low-scent posies — nothing tall or heavily perfumed | $59–$90 |
| Get well | Small cheerful bunch or a low vase that fits a bedside table | $59–$85 |
| Sympathy (home) | White and cream lilies, roses, understated wraps | $90–$170 |
| Funeral service | Sheaf, wreath or casket arrangement — order 24–48 hours ahead | $160–$270 |
| Thank you | Mid-size seasonal bunch, or flowers with chocolates | $59–$90 |
| Apology | Roses, or something clearly more considered than a supermarket bunch | $75–$140 |
| For a man | Natives, deep reds and oranges, dark wrap, or flowers with a hamper | $69–$210 |
| Corporate / office | Structured vase arrangements that hold up in air conditioning | $95–$210 |
If none of that fits, tell us the situation in the order notes and we will build something appropriate from the best of what came off the Perth market that morning. Our florists have been doing this a long time and it is often the better call.
What's Actually in Season in Perth
Perth's Mediterranean climate means our flower calendar looks nothing like the eastern states, and imported stems bought out of season never last as long. Where we can, we build around what is genuinely at its best that week.
Spring (September to November)
The big one. Western Australian wildflowers hit their peak, with Kings Park running its festival through September. Kangaroo paw, wattle, geraldton wax and pincushion hakea are all at their best, alongside tulips, ranunculus and freesias. If you want something unmistakably Western Australian, this is the window.
Summer (December to February)
Sunflowers and gerberas handle the heat far better than delicate garden roses. Natives also hold up well through a Perth summer, which matters when a bouquet has to survive an afternoon on a doorstep in 38 degrees.
Autumn (March to May)
Roses come back into their own, alongside lilies and chrysanthemums. Mother's Day falls in early May and the same-day window fills fast across every Perth florist, ours included — book ahead.
Winter (June to August)
Tulips, jonquils and early wattle. Natives carry much of the range through the cooler months, and they last longer in a cool house than almost anything else we stock.
Sending Flowers Somewhere Specific in Perth
Hospitals
We deliver to every major Perth hospital, including Fiona Stanley, Royal Perth, Sir Charles Gairdner, St John of God Murdoch and Subiaco, King Edward Memorial and Joondalup Health Campus. Our driver leaves arrangements at main reception and the hospital directs them to the ward. Include the ward name if you have it. Keep in mind some intensive care units do not accept fresh flowers — compact, low-scent arrangements travel best either way.
Workplaces
Office deliveries run daily across the CBD, Adelaide Terrace, West Perth and the industrial pockets out through Canning Vale and Welshpool. Add the business name and floor or suite number at checkout, plus a contact number so our driver can get access first time rather than leaving flowers in a car park.
Funerals and services
We deliver to funeral homes and services across the metro, including Bowra & O'Dea and Purslowe Chipper, and to Pinnaroo Valley Memorial Park for graveside services. Funeral tributes need 24 to 48 hours' notice where possible. Our funeral and sympathy guide covers what to send, what to write and the etiquette involved.
Homes across the metro
Flat $15 to every Perth suburb we serve, from Joondalup down to Mandurah — including Thornlie, South Perth, East Perth and Mount Lawley. Same fee regardless of distance. Full terms on our shipping page.
Ordering today? Our same-day cut-off is 4 PM, Monday to Saturday — hours later than most Perth florists, who close between 10 AM and 1 PM. We do not deliver on Sundays.
Choosing Flowers — Common Questions
How much should I spend on flowers?
For a friend or colleague, $59 to $80 reads as generous without being awkward. For a partner, parent or a milestone, most people land between $90 and $150. Funeral tributes sit higher because of size — usually $160 upwards. Spending more does not always help: a well-built bouquet of one variety often looks better than a larger mixed one.
Are there flowers I should avoid sending?
A few worth knowing. Heavily scented lilies are a poor choice for hospitals and small apartments. In some Chinese and Vietnamese households white and yellow chrysanthemums are associated with mourning, so they are best avoided for a celebration. Red roses carry an unmistakably romantic reading — fine for a partner, easily misread for a colleague. If you are unsure, ask us.
What do the colours mean?
Red for romance, pink for affection and gratitude, yellow for friendship and cheer, white for sympathy and new beginnings, orange for energy and congratulations. These are conventions rather than rules, and the recipient's actual taste beats symbolism every time.
Do men like receiving flowers?
More often than the person buying them expects. The trick is presentation: bold colours, structured shapes, dark wrapping, or natives. Most men receive flowers rarely, which is exactly why it lands. See our birthday flowers for him range.
Flowers or a gift hamper?
Flowers for emotion — sympathy, romance, congratulations. A hamper when the recipient is practical, or when you are not confident flowers will land. Both together is the safest option of all, and it is what most of our customers choose for men and for corporate gifts.
How far ahead should I order?
For an ordinary weekday, same day is fine before 4 PM. For Mother's Day, Valentine's Day and Father's Day, order at least a week out — those days sell out across every florist in Perth, not just ours. For funerals, 24 to 48 hours.
How long will they last?
Seven to ten days for most arrangements with fresh water and a stem trim every couple of days. Australian natives run far longer, often three weeks or more, which is worth knowing if you want the gift to stay around.
